GENERAL:
Lily Burns, AKA BURNS, is a producer, songwriter, composer, and engineer from San Francisco, CA. After graduating from Berklee College of Music in 2016 she moved to Los Angeles where she began working with independent artists on developing their sound, arranging their live shows, and/or mixing albums and singles. She is dedicated to interpreting the artist’s vision and making it her own, as well as capturing each artist’s unique personality in the sound of the work she creates for them.
In 2018, Burns was hired as an assistant to the prolific producer, AG, who brought her into the world of film and tv music. Under AG, Burns developed her skillset as a sync producer and writer, both ghost-producing for AG and working on projects of her own .
In 2020, Burns dove fully into writing and producing for film and television: collaborating with other artists in the sync space, doing custom work for trailers and promos, and participating in sync-focused writing camps. Burns has worked on, written, and produced music used in countless tv shows, trailers, films, and advertisements, including Grey's Anatomy, Roswell NM, The Crown, Dolittle, Slow Horses, and The Morning Show.
SOLO ORIGINAL MUSIC:
At Berklee, Lily created a buzz amongst fellow students and teachers alike as one of the most creative songwriters and players of her class. A Berklee video for her song If You're Tired reached over 130,000 views on youtube and her EP, titled Idly Wild and featuring this song and others, was highly anticipated. The EP was recorded and produced by Simon Katz and co-produced by Chris Geller - both recent Berklee graduates who also play in her band. These three together, along with singer Olivia Laratta and a rotating cast of fantastic lead guitarists, create an incendiary new sound that is both lyrically compelling and musically satisfying. Lily has shifted her focus away from an artist career, but uses her experience creating this EP in her everyday work as a producer, a writer, and an engineer. The experience was invaluable to her development as a musician and a collaborator.
